Procedure (30-43 minutes)
The teacher divides the board into two and on the right coloumn he writes one or two sentences in simple present and one or two sentences in present continuous on the left. Then, he draws a line under each coloumn and writes a sentence that contrasts a regular activity he does with something which is happening now.
The teacher shows five sentence on the smartboard and asks the SS to match them with the explanations of usage. He checks whether they know the meaning of repeated actions... etc.
The teacher clarifies the unclear points and tries to elicit the negative forms from the SS.
The teacher asks the SS to do one gap-filling and one sentence making exercise on their SB.
The teacher asks the SS to write five sentences by using present simple and present continous. After that, he asks each pair to read their sentences to their partners.
