The teacher shows a picture of his friend and one of his belongings. After he describes him, he tells that that item belongs to him by using possessive 's. Then he divides the class into four groups and hands out the matching cards to each group.

The SS try to match the blue cards with the white ones with their pairs in 5-6 minutes. After their time is up, the teacher shows the answer key on the smartboard and tries to elicit the rule of using possessive 's. (The possessive 's and ' are highlighted in red on the answer sheet.)

The teacher asks the SS to define the rule. After receiving their answers, he tries to elicit the use of target language by asking them to do a fill-in exercise on the smartboard.

The teacher explains the rule by showing the answer key to the fill-in exercise and use CCQs to check whether the SS have learnt it or not.

The teacher asks the student pairs to do the fourth exercise on page 4 in 3 minutes and then he checks the answers with the whole class.

The teacher assigns the fifth exercise on the fourth page as homework. Or the SS may do it in the class with their pairs if the time permits.
