Warmer/Lead-in (4-7 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

- T will set the context by telling a personal story, then showing some pictures (Yesterday, I went to Taksim and I saw Ataturk statue. I asked my friend many questions about him but he said "I am not genealogist" search the Internet and find his family tree") Then, T will show a picture of Ataturk family tress. - T will elicit the word "Genealogy" and write it on WB, then ask SS what it is and how you could find out about your family's history. - SS will discuss in pairs then in groups and give examples such as (asking relatives, using archives or the internet.

Exposure (5-8 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

T will put SS in pairs and give a copy of the email, then ask SS Instruction: .Read the email. .Read it quickly and discuss with your partner "what the person wants you to do?". .You have 3 minutes to finish. .Do not look now? .1,2,3 read. Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

- SS will swap their email with other student in their pair and check the new email for the level of formality. Instructions: . Swap your email with other student. . Check for the level of formality. - SS will underline anything they feel is too informal and return it for redrafting. - T will provide errors correction during monitoring.
