Main Aims

  • To provide product writing practice of a paragraph in the context of your job and ambitions
  • To provide clarification of descrptive adjectives in the context of current jobs and ambitions

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide clarification of the use of but to connect sentences in the context of ambitions
  • To provide clarification of contractions in the context of writing a paragraph about jobs.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in-Favroite things (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Write 3 things that are your favorite on 3 pieces of paper- sport, food, place to travel, colour etc - put in the tin -take 3 out and go around the class asking questions to try and find who wrote the information.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

Read the paragrahps from yesterday. Work with the class to do an example on the boord.

Useful Language (10-15 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

My name's- Highlight the use of the contraction. I work in a--phrase I don't like- highlight the contraction but- highlight the use of this to connect sentences I really want to.....-highlight the use of "really' to give more strength to the sentence borning, interesting, exciting, easy, hard- adjectives- to describe Get students to make a list of other adjectives.

Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills
