Description

In this lesson students will listen and predict the use of personal pronouns and possessive adjectives through listening to a text about different people in a class.This will be followed by speaking about a friend in the class.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification, review and practice of the verb be in the context of people

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-T asks the students to recap what they studied yesterday. - Teacher plays hang man The words will be occupation,Family and countries.

Pre-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

T asks the students to read the given texts and find out what they are talking about? family,name,occupation etc -T asks the students to put the said info in the box given in the TB.Teachers shows an example. -sts work in groups -T asks the students to compare answers -T gives feed back by displaying answers on the board.To make it more competitive .T asks the students to add few more words in each column.( only for strong students)

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

T asks the sts to predict by looking at the pics to which countries they belong ? -T plays the audio -Sts listen and check.T asks the students to compare answers in their group/pair T gives feed back by displaying the answers on the PPT. -T asks the students to read the questions and tell what the info is required to listen to? -T takes feed back and then plays the audio. -Students listen and compare answers in their group. - T takes feed back as a whole class

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-16 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Now students move to Exercise 6 .Teacher will ask the students to complete the exercise by discussion in the group. T takes feed back and then plays the audio to check answers if there is need to do so.

Post-Reading/Listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Teacher writes the questions on the board What is his /her name? How old is he./ she ? What does he do? Where is he from? Does he have any brothers or sisters? What does he want to do in the future? Teacher drills the questions and answers and then gives 5 min to complete ex 7 T asks the students to sit in pairs facing each other and ask and answer question T asks the students to tell your partner about your self using questions in ex8 and the other student will listen and write the information and then describe his friend.using His name is ...He is from ....etc
