Description

In this lesson, students will discuss their opinions about going out in the evening, and weather they go to the cinema, to the exhibition, or to the concert. They will do that through speaking, discussing their own topics.

Main Aims

  • To provide gist and specific information asking and answering about prices and times in the context of Advertisment

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of Advertisement.

Procedure

Warmer/ Lead-in (5-8 minutes) • To engage students to their lesson

T will write 'advertisements' on the board, and ask students what this word mean. T will show pictures of advertisements for Burger King, McDonald, and 7 up. T will ask ss to ask each other' what is this?'

Pre-Listening (1-2 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accesable

T will put pictures of advertisements for The Lewsham Gallery, The Mary Colgan,and the Ritz on the wall. T will divide ss to 3 groups and ask them to read these advertisements and come back to their seats.

Pre-Listening 2 (2-3 minutes) • To predict the contents of the listening

T ask ss to match adverts A-C with 1-3

Gist listening (3-4 minutes) • To provide ss with less challenging gist listening

T hands out the dialogue on papers. Listen to the recording and fill in the gaps inthe pictures of adverts.

Detailed listening (4-6 minutes) • To provide ss with more challenging listening

Ss listen and match. Check in pairs.

If-Time Activity 8-9-10 (9-11 minutes) • To introduce collocations related to listening

T shows the Ss the flash cards of the money symbol. T asks the Ss to read the flash cards loudly. Ss listen to track 2.12 and check. Feedback: give Ss pictures of Kate in the cinema,and ask them to match.

Post-listening (10-11 minutes) • To provide with opportunity to let the Ss ask and answer about times and prices.

In pairs Ss will discuss the prices on the adverts . In small groups,they will ask and answer about times and prices.
