Different parts of the body
Elementary, A2 level
By the end of the lesson, the students will have recognized and practiced the words related to the body parts.
To use the target vocabulary in the controlled speaking activities in the context of body parts.
To practice by playing a video for specific information in the context of body parts.
Procedure (18-13 minutes)
I greets the students and briefly talk about all actions that we use our body parts . i would ask them in walking we use which parts of our bodies? and say some other parts of body by the examples like watching TV or listening to a music.
I show each pictures to students and elicit what they are doing in this picture for example they walk or they hug each other or they smell and then i will ask them they do these actions by which part of their bodies? if they dont know the name of body parts i would tell them and complete the sentence for example they walk with their legs.and after that i show the picture of exact body part and say the word again. then i ask some CCQs about abilities of body parts like: can we walk with eyes? how many eyes do we have? then drill the words and spelling. i would do all these steps for each picture.
i would point to a body part and ask them what is this? they would say and if it needs to tell the plural one i would help them to know that and review all the words.
i would show the work sheets and say they should fill the gaps with the words and do them alone then i will ask some ICQs to make sure they understand what they are going to do: 1. should you do it in pairs? 2. should you write the words in the blanks? then i will hand out the sheets and give them time then for feedback i would choose one student and when he/she ask the answer she /he should tell the name of another classmates to check all the answers.
i would play a video and do some actions myself and repeat some words then i pause the video and want students to play a game like wave your hands or touch your arms and do all the actions in the video.
