Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

I will use some pictures about Australia, like kangaroo and koala and a map of Australia as well to expose the students to the context of travel. - Students will answer questions about Australia * What do you know about Australia? the capital and main cities/ the language and culture/ and famous animals/ the climate. - After that Students will share their ideas about Australia/ -

Pre-Listening (8-10 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

First, I will explain the situation of the text which is Marco is going to Australia for two weeks on holiday/ He is asking his Australian friend Elaine to recommend places to visit. then Ss are going to listen and the Ss should: -Number the four places on the map that Elaine suggests. and answer the following question as well/ - How long do they decide he should spend in each place?

Post Listening Task (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information listening tasks.

After they listen to the conversation between Marco and Elaine, they will work in pairs, to answer this Question: In which place does Elaine mention the following? I will provide them with handouts to answer through them. after they finish, Students will listen again to check their answers.

Practice listening (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference listening tasks

Students will listen in order to complete the phrases Elaine uses. and after they finish, they have to check their answer with a partner.I will monitor the students to do some error correction at the end of the listening and checking their answers.

Post-Listening real life practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

I will give the students a sample of airlines flight ticket about how to make a flight reservation. they will work in pairs, one of them will be student A and the other will be the flight travel agent. then after they finish they have to swap roles/ I will monitor during the dialogue and when they finish I will give them feedback and error correcting at the end of the practice.
