Procedure

I ask students:Have you traveled before? I say: I am not Turkish. What do I need to come to Turkey?

ECDW (13-15 minutes) • Students learn new vocabularies about what they need to travel.

I elicit vocabularies from students. I show them pictures as prompts. I provide them with CCQs. They drill the target language. I do some games.

Activity 1 (2-3 minutes) • To check that they understand the target language.

Students match the words to the pictures. This task is done individually then students check with their partners.

Activity 2 (5-6 minutes) • Students practice TL in a context of a supposed three-day-holiday in Britain.

Students have a set of words. They underline five things they would like to take with them to Britain. They compare lists in pairs.

functional language (6-8 minutes) • to provide students with functional language n the context of questions about Istanbul

I ask students questions about Istanbul. I think Istanbul is a big city? Do agree? Yes, I agree. No I don't agree.

Extension task (8-10 minutes) • To provide them with more practice of the target language.

This is a pyramid discussion. I introduce functional language; I think, I agree. I tell students they are going to the Amazon Rainforst on holiday. They have their passport and ticket and some clothes. They have to choose only five more things. Then in pairs they compare and produce one list. In groups of four they do the same. They compare and produce one list.
