To provide gist reading practice using a text about family in the context of shyness with parents
To provide clarification and review of family lexis in the context of parents that are irritating
Procedure (47-55 minutes)
1.Ss will be asked what kind of professions the parents in the picture have. This will involve eliciting. 2. Seats will be labeled with names "Alex, Kayleigh and Gina." Ss will constitute groups with each group having been separated according to each person. (Each group will have either "Alex, Kayleigh or Gina." 3. Ss will be asked what the parents' hobbies, jobs are.
1. Adjectives will be pre-taught. 2. Ss will be split into pairs. 3. Ss will be asked to say which emotions match the correct picture. (These adjectives will be part of a HO that Ss will have after preteaching.) Teacher will match adjectives to WB.
1. SS will be in pairs and will be asked to read article about each person. The text will be part of a HO. 2. Ss will be asked to do example 3 (matching exercise). This will be part of HO with example 3.
1. SS will be asked to arrange jumbled words. (HO) 2. SS will be asked the meaning of each task (each question from example 4).
