Prepositions of place
A1 level

Description

In this lesson, ss learn prepositions of space and practice the usage through speaking. In the lead-in stage, T puts a table in the middle of the cllass and also some objects and elicits vocabulary. After choral and individual drill T puts some of the objects "under" the table, "on" the floor, "in" the vase", "next to the teacher. These prepositions are drilled and written on the Board. Then T asks where is/are the object(s) by changing their places. Through the use of realia, ss learn both new vocabulary and prepositions of place. T gives the first HO, so that ss can see the written form of the personal possessions.Later ss have a speaking activity based on the use of prepositions to reinforce what they learned.
