Procedure (37-45 minutes)
Ss look at the pictures on the book and guess what happened to Megan in their groups. T takes w/c feedback.
Ss listen the track 1.38 to check if their guesses are correct or not, and answer the questions in exercise 1b individually. Ss discuss the answers in their groups, t hangs answer key on the walls, ss walk around and check their answers in groups. T takes w/c feedback, and shows examples of narrative tenses on the board and keeps those examples on the WB during the whole lesson to create a background for the speaking activity.
Ss listen the track again to complete the sentences from the story with the verbs given in exercise 2. Ss check their answers in their groups, t shows the answers on the board while taking w/c feedback. T asks CCQ to make the meaning clear.
The ss think about a dramatic or traumatic event they have experienced. T helps ss to brainstorm and writes ss' ideas on WB. They get ready to tell their stories in three minutes. They rehearse telling their stories in pairs. T mingles the class so everybody has a new partner. Pairs tell their stories and they ask Wh questions to each other. T monitors and takes notes while the students are talking to each other.
T takes w/c feedback first on the content by nominating ss to tell about the most interesting stories and the form on WB by writing some sample sentences from ss' stories.
