Procedure (36-46 minutes)
the teacher will write the following words on the board; name , place, teachers, students, lessons, time, days. and will ask students in groups of three , to think and write sentences about their school. the teacher will give an example: It's ITI Language school.
First, in order to build the Ss background knowledge and per-teach the vocabulary , the teacher will write the word school on the board and will elicit words about their school. Words like: student , teacher, classroom, cafeteria, international. Then , the teacher will show pictures of UNIS(United Nation International School) and ask the students if they know What and Where is it. After that, the teacher will read the text aloud to make sure that the students read the text at the same speed and also to make them familiar with correct pronunciation. Then, in pairs they will find the answers to the questions.
the teacher will write the following letters on the board; M,T,W,T,F,S,S. Ask them how many letters? and What are the Words? then give them the handout of the jumbled (not in order) days of the week with the first letter missing ask them to complete the words with those letters. Make sure they make them with capital letters.give them a quick instruction of capital and small letters by writing examples on the board. then check the answers by playing the listening 1.52. and ask them to repeat after it to learn the correct pronunciation and stress of the words. After that stick the flash card of the days and ask them to come and put them in order. and drill the pronunciation of days of the week but this time in order.
in this listening, a teacher answers questions about UNIS from three different people. there are two listening exercises here . in the first one Ss should listen and put the questions in order.before that the teacher will give them time to read the questions and then give demo on the first one.and then ask them to do the rest. Let them check the answers with their partners. Then, check the answers. for exercise 2, put the students in pairs and ask them to read the question and answers and match them.After that, play the recording again and ask the students to check their answers
The teacher will give every three students a bingo card which contains the European Languages , the teacher reads the name of the countries and the student should find the name of the Language of that country and cross it . the first group who crosses the entire row id the winner.
