Abc Straightforward Pre-Int - SsBk- U 2a, pg. 16, Vocab and Listening 1-3, Listening 1-2

Main Aims

  • By the end of the lesson students will have learned /revised adjective and preposition collocations in the context of school days.

Subsidiary Aims

  • Listening, Grammar, Speaking

Procedure

Lead-in (5-10 minutes) • To start the lesson with "stickies." Ss have to guess from the word if its (+) or (-).

Ss will stick paper with (+) (-) on the WB where there will be words.

Pre-teaching (5-5 minutes) • Ss will be taught new words from first example.

Ss will be taught the conjugated words in a pre teaching part of the lesson.

PW (5-5 minutes) • Aim is to have students in pairs discussing how the words relate to them. Ss will have to think of the opposite of the selected words.

Ss will think of the opposite words.

Feedback (5-5 minutes) • Opposite words (antonyms) will be reviewed.

Antonyms will be corrected.

Listening

For the first listening exercise, Ss will be asked to choose pieces of paper which are marked a, b and c. They will then be asked to come to the WB to stick the paper to the correct statement. This will be done according to the recording.

Listening Exercise 2 (5-10 minutes) • Ss will have a HO. They will complete the columns. A and B. This will be done according to the recording.
Grammar (5-10 minutes) • To explain required tense.

There will be a chart on the WB. SS will be randomly asked to say correctly the required tense.

Complete the gaps (5-5 minutes) • Ss will be asked to complete the gaps in the required tense.
