Description

In this lesson, students learn asking for information and practice the vocabs learned in the previous lesson.The lesson starts with a discussion of asking questions followed by a puzzle activity on the board.Then, this continues as a pair activity. Finally, there is a role play speaking activity.

Procedure

lead in (1-2 minutes) • to create interest in the topic

Ask the students what kind of questions do they ask in a day? and whom do they ask these questions?

controlled practice (3-5 minutes) • to provide practice of functional language for asking for information

Take the words of functional language exercise 1 and 2. The words are already printed out twice and applied a magnet behind seperately. Stick them on the board before class unordered but in a line. There are four sentences on the board in total. .Two different sentences are on the right and the others are on the left. For two different groups, there are two different sentences.Group them in two. Ask the learners stand up and get in a line towards the board. Then, draw lines between four sentences. Tell them go one by one from each group and rearrange the words to make a ordered sentence. Each person can only rearrange one word at a time. Puzzle time!

pair work activity (4-5 minutes) • to provide practice of functional language for asking for information

Ask them to complete the exercises in pairs. Then, class feedback.

gist task (3-4 minutes) • to provide speaking practice of functional language for asking information

Learners in pairs form a dialogue by using the questions in the speaking exercise.

Speaking (3-4 minutes) • to provide speaking practice of functional language for asking information

Role- play speaking with the dialogues formed by themselves.
