Students learn how to make sentences using the keyword go through guided discovery. The lesson will start with a discussion about their holiday. This is followed by the vocabulary . Finally their is some controlled practice through sentence reformulation and free practice via a final role play.

  • To provide accuracy speaking practice in a conversation using common phrase (go) in the context of (on weekend).


Warmer/Lead-in (5-6 minutes) • to set the lesson context and engage the students

Start the lesson by showing a picture of a couple Sara and Ali. Q1 - Who does sara go out with? Q2- Where does she go ? Q3-Who does she go with ? Q4. what does she go for?

Exposure key word go (5-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through situation

Practice on the board vocabulary Go to( places) Go with( person) Go for ( reason) Practice drilling on the sentence structure. Students then write the correct vocabulary on the given sheet. (group work)

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

practice on pronunciation of the target language with drilling through creating sentences I go out with..... I go to...... I go for a ......... Alow students to complete sentences . (work sheet)

Clarification (3-5 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

Discuss about their activities on weekends. Showing some flash cards and creating sentences using the target language . Distribute the pictures and allow them to free practice the target language.

Controlled Practice (3-5 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

practice with students the target language in questions and answers. I ask students questions using the target language. 1- How often do you go for a walk? 2-Do you ever go to the Malls? 3-where do you go shopping? 3.Do you like going out with your mother? -Practice the answer with different vocabulary. -Students then match the answers.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

practice with students the target language in questions and answers. Ask students questions about their weekend Q1. Where do they go on weekends? Q2. Who do they go with? Q3. What do do they for? -Practice the answer with different vocabulary.

Free Practice (3-5 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Learner write three questions .They move freely around the class. ask other learners their questions, and finding out more information. As a round up , ask each learner what was the most interesting thing they found out.
