TP8a -- Speaking about Plans -- Valdes 6-19

Elementary level

In this lesson, students consolidate spoken command of grammar related to plans, i.e. going to and might with question and negative forms, through progressively freer speaking exercises. First they do a controlled gap-fill exercise to consolidate their understanding of grammar usage rules, then do a controlled gap-fill speaking exercise to practice asking questions and answering in the context of plans. Then they speak about their own weekend or life plans with partners in a freer format.

In this lesson, students understand and practice the language through given new vocabulary based on some speaking activities about problems and solutions. The lesson starts with projecting a video about problems and solutions. This is followed by pre teaching vocabulary activity and matching and role play activity to speak about problems and solutions. Finally there is some freer practice via final role play speaking.

In this lesson Ss practice speaking for fluency in the context of travelling. The lesson starts with a discussion about travelling on a personal level, they then draw a table where they list pro and cons,followed by an exercise where students have to draw up on their knowledge of adjectives , and created sentences with those to later use in their speaking task. In this lesson, the sts will have the opportunity to develop their fluency in speaking with the topic 'Brain Facts'. The speaking activity will be a quiz. The sts will listen to an audio in order to analyze the results. Prior to the listening activity, the teacher will go over some of the vocabulary that is mentioned in the aduio. The final part of the lesson will be a freer speaking activity where the students share the results / analyzations with their partners.
