Beginner - Grammar Lesson Plan

A1 - beginner level

In this lesson, the beginner students will learn the <b>simple</b> present tense focusing on the "have, like, study, live and work" verbs. They will learn how to make a sentence in <b>simple</b> present form by using the "I, You, They" subject pronouns. Both negative and positive sentences in <b>simple</b> present will be the main focus of the lesson. I will use images to clarify the new words. The ss will enhance their vocabulary treasure besides grammar.

In this lesson, the students will practise the <b>Past</b> <b>Simple</b> tense, analysing the regular and irregular verbs through a Nelson Mandela reading. As well as learning about the <b>past</b> <b>simple</b> form of verbs and practising them, the students will be able to practise their reading skills, through skimming and scanning. The main aim of this lesson will be to get my students to practise speaking for fluency on a questionnaire based speaking activity.

Elementary level

In this lesson students will focus on the grammar topic of the verb TO BE in the <b>past</b> tense with the topic of talking about previous birthdays and other celebrations. Students will see an initial text with examples of the target language. Teacher will conduct MFPA and use slides for CCQs to check understanding. In controlled and freer practice students will have the opportunity to use the new target language in the form of a google form and general conversation.

SS will be engaged in GW and PW as they are going to develop their productive skills, making up stories, dialogues, discussing situations. We will also work on the correct pronunciation of the verb "to be" in its <b>past</b> forms, discuss the spelling of some verb changes in <b>past</b> <b>simple</b> and <b>past</b> continuous.
