The first two lessons are listening exercises and exercise 7 is a speaking exercise. The main aim of the lesson is grammar where the sub-aims are vocabulary, listening and speaking.

In this lesson students will review the 'unfinished <b>past</b>' function of the <b>simple</b> present perfect through use of time expressions "for and since". Following extracting the language from the pre-analysed reading text the class will review/learn about the meaning, form and pronunciation. They will also do two controlled and one (freer) semi-controlled practises to consolidate the meaning and form of the target language

In this lesson, students will learn about using the present perfect to talk about <b>past</b> experiences. They will use this tense to ask and answer general questions about the <b>past</b>, which will hopefully enable them to understand the contrast with the more specific time reference of the <b>past</b> <b>simple</b>. This will be followed by a jigsaw reading exercise, in which they will encounter some of the different time expressions.
