By the end of the class students will be able to describe different cities using both gradable and absolute adjectives.
Subsidiary Aims

SS wil be able to properly select between using very/really and an absolute adjective.
Procedure (13-22 minutes)
T shows SS different pictures on the screen. Teacher asks students to describe pictures using adjectives they know.
T shows students a text where both gradable and absolute adjectives are being used. T asks SS to give a general opinion of the text. SS have about a minute or two to read.
T shows students the text where words have been highlighted. Words need to be related such as really good - amazing, very bad - terrible, etc.
T shows a chart where gradable and absolute adjectives are used. T goes over pronunciation of absolute adjectives. T goes over the use of adverbs.
T sends Ss a link to word wall where they practice.
Students have to describe their cities using gradable and absolute adjectives. They need to use the correct adverbs to convey their ideas clearly.
