Procedure (21-32 minutes)
The T draws a picture of her family on the board and says: "This is my family." Then points to herself and says : "This is me", pointing to the pictures on the board asks questions: Who is this? The T repeats the same question for all the words (mum, dad, sister,brother) Depending on the level and number of the Ss, the T might add other characters to the picture and ask the same questions for the words: aunt, uncle, cousin, grandma, grandpa.
Using the flash cards the teacher teaches the colors ( blue, red, purple, green, yellow)
The T chests The HO (outline) and says: "This is my brother." reviews the questions and words from the first two stages( i.e. Who is this? -This is my brother. What color is this? etc). Then demonstrates how to sketch the boy: - draw the outline of the boy with light person strokes. Start with the body. Then sketch the head and the limbs. Draw the parts of the face last.
The T points to different parts of the boy's body and asks "what color is this?" And then assigns the Ss to color different parts of his body according to her instructions.
The T plays track 1.1. The Ss listen and answer the questions. As listening to the questions the teacher points to the parts to make it easier for the ss. (- what color is his hat? what color are his trousers? what color is his hair?)
Pointing to different objects in class the teacher asks the Ss what color the objects are. And then plays the clean up song: track 0.2.
