Description

In this lesson, we will talk about our summer vacation using verbs in the past tense. We will review daily routine from our last week together: feelings, days of the week, months, date, alphabet, vowel sounds. We will practice numbers and question starter words.

Materials

Main Aims

  • To make Perla feel welcomed back to our classes, check understanding of previous content and review and practice daily routine.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice of using regular and irregular verbs in past tense in the context of sharing about our summer vacation.

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (10-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Welcome back! Ask her how she is doing and feeling. Then, share jamboard and talk use my vacaction and images to help her think about and share her own summer vacation using the verbs/or other verbs in the past tense.

Test #1 (10-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

Share canva ppt and review days of the week, months of the year, stations of the year, date,, alphabet and letter sounds, vowel sounds, and vowel practice.

Teach (20-20 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

Review question starters with wordwall link. Then create questions with the question starters: who, what, when, where, why, how, how many, can. Finally, numbers review wordwall.

Test #2 (15-15 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

Review and practive pronouns and verbs with agenda web.

Free practice (5-5 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language
