Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (12-12 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The teacher welcomes students to the topic of the hour, and sets a context by having students ask and answer the following questions: Do you consider yourself to be a sociable person? Why? How often do you tend to go out and hang out with people? How do you feel when someone you agree on meeting doesn’t arrive on time? How do you feel when you don’t arrive on time with someone you agree on meeting? What happens? What do you do? What do you say? Why? While the students work (2 rounds of speaking), the teacher monitors. The teacher provides content feedback afterward

Test #1 (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

The students are given the following context: Roleplay a conversation where you agree on meeting someone but you arrive late… Important Give reasons for arriving late Depends on the classmates to forgive or not While the students work in breakout rooms, the teacher monitors

Teach (15-15 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

The students observed the link (https://forms.gle/ij69buaQfL3D8w259) the teacher is sharing on the screen. In it, they will have to watch some videos, and answer the questions. While students work, the teacher monitors. When time runs out, the teacher provides content feedback

Test #2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

The students are given the following context: Roleplay a new conversation where you agree on meeting someone but you arrive late… Important Give reasons for arriving late Depends on the classmates to forgive or not Use the knowledge reviewed The students work in breakout rooms and the teacher monitors. The teacher provides content feedback

Free practice (12-14 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

The students are given the following context by the teacher: Ask and answer: Have you ever not showed up to meetings you agreed with people? Why? What are some of the reasons people have stood you up (do not show)? How have you felt in those situations? Why? How have you felt when you stood up people? The students answer questions in group (2 rounds), while the teacher monitors After time runs out, students come back to the general session and receive content feedback
