Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (10-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The teacher welcomes students to the topic of the hour: lexis practice. The teacher directs students with the following context: Read the following ailments and in teams provide suggestions on what can they do to get better: My daughter spends lots of time working and driving. I'm worried that this might not be very good for her. What should I do? When I go to sleep, I often get aches and pains in my neck and back. Can you give me some advice? I have a problem with my knee. It started quite recently and it's getting worse all the time. The students are sent to breakout rooms, and the teacher monitors. After time runs out, the teacher provides OCFB.

Test #1 (8-10 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language

The teacher has students enter the net languages platform and answer exercises 1-6 of the lexis section in groups on breakout rooms. When students finish, the teacher must check answers in generality, so as to solve questions. Students then exemplify in the chat what they just did

Teach (15-15 minutes) • To clarify areas of the target language where students had difficulty in the first test stage

The students then receive the following questions from the teacher: In the sentence: Turn your head slowly to the left, what is the use of the word slowly? What happens if I match ly suffix with other words such as patient, fast, etc.? What words have this use: They describe how something happens? Where do the previous words go? They must answer them in breakout rooms. While the students work, the teacher monitors. The students receive feedback

Test #2 (8-10 minutes) • Check students' use of the target language again and compare with the first test

The teacher has students enter the net languages platform and answer exercises 7-11 of the lexis section in groups on breakout rooms. When students finish, the teacher must check answers in generality, so as to solve questions. Students then exemplify in the chat what they just did.

Free practice (13-15 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

The students receive the following context: Roleplay a conversation where one talks about ailments, aches, and problems, and the other suggests a course of action using the reviewed vocabulary…. While the students work, the teacher monitors. Then, a group presents, and all the class provides feedback
