Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (10-10 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Have learners play a Kahoot related to sports: https://create.kahoot.it/v2/share/14861d70-9155-439c-9a5d-95e77dc9618e

Pre-Reading/Listening (9-10 minutes) • To prepare students for the text and make it accessible

Stressing the importance of debating and reading, share the following link to the students (https://forms.gle/iX9ETwx52CJF5MSU6) and elicit instructions. Ask them to not send the answers. Create break out rooms for them to work on it. After they finish, have them do peer check in a different breakout room. Do an OCFB applying MFPA process: For pronunciation do choral drilling

While-Reading/Listening #1 (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with less challenging gist and specific information reading/listening tasks

Share the following link to the students (https://forms.gle/DY6gEXbZNPjvTZui7 ) and elicit instructions. Ask them to not send the answers. Create break out rooms for them to work on it. After they finish, have them do peer check in a different breakout room. Do an OCFB.

While-Reading/Listening #2 (14-14 minutes) • To provide students with more challenging detailed, deduction and inference reading/listening tasks

Post-Reading/Listening (10-12 minutes) • To provide with an opportunity to respond to the text and expand on what they've learned

Trying to continuating the conversation (ask even more questions): Do you like sports? Which ones? In case you do not, why? Do you think sports are important for the world? In what way? What do you think is the future of sports considering COVID? Before time runs out, bring everyone back and do content feedback. Imperative that based on the production, you either do a second round, or you allow them to continue on the same group.
