To introduce and practice using vocabulary related to city facilities.
Procedure (31-40 minutes)
T will chest the HO and ask the Ss to match the words in bold with their definitions T will ask ICQs: What are you going to do? Which words are defined below? T will ask them to check their answers with their partners. T will elicit the correct answers, model the words, drill the words chorally and individually, show where the stress is, and finally put the words, their parts of speech, and stress pattern on the board. T will chest the HO and ask the Ss to use the words to label the map. T will ask ICQs: What is in the box? what should you do with the words? T will ask the early finishers to write the answers on the board. Then, she will chest the material again and demonstrate the next activity. T will ask ICQs: Are all the sentences correct? How do you know if they are true or false? Ss will answer the questions and then check their answers with their partners. T will get WCFB and ask for their reasons. T will ask the Ss to work in pairs and talk about these places in their town. T will monitor the activity.
T will put the picture on the board, and ask Ss questions: Where are they? Are the three women related to each other? Why are they in the station? Do you think the two men know the women? What do you think is happening? T will pre teach: " go out, turn left/right, cross, keep walking" T will drill the words chorally and individually, show where the primary stress is and put the words and their part of speech on the board.
T will chest the HO and ask the Ss to read the questions, then listen to the CD and answer the questions. T will ask the Ss to listen again and then check their answers with their partners. T will get WCFB. Then she will chest the map again, point at the three routes on the map, ask the Ss to listen to the CD again and find the correct route.
T will write three locations on the board and ask the Ss to give directions to their partners.
T will write two stress patterns on the board and ask the Ss to to work in pairs and decide which words fit the pattern.
