Procedure

Introduction (2 minutes) • To introduce yourself

Step 1: My name is _____ I am your teacher. Step 2: Today we will be learning on how to say Hello in English and how to reply to this.

STARTER (3 minutes) • To introduce the context of the lesson

Step 1: Introduce the topic and tell them they will be learning am/are/is/your/ how are you / good morning etc... tell them that this is called plurals. Step 2: ON PAGE 6, show them the picture of Pablo and Mika and ask them what do they think they are doing?

ENGAGE (5 minutes) • Get them familiar with what they are going to learn

STEP 1 : ON PAGE 6: do question 1 ( teacher be's pablo ) REPEAT THE DIALOGUE 3 TIMES STEP 2 : WRITE THE GRAMMAR SPOT ( I'M = I AM etc ) on the white board and get them to repeat this 3 times. Make sure they understand that I'm means I am. PRAISE THEM. ( WELL DONE, FABULOUS, SMILE :)))) )

ENGAGE 2 (2 minutes) • to practice what they have just been introduced ( controlled practice )

STEP 1: do question 2, and use your real name and the students real name repeat 3 x praise.

ENGAGE 3 (4 minutes) • Introducing a conversation of 3 people.

STEP 1: MAKE SURE THE CHARACTERS ARE STILL THE SAME, SO TEACHER IS STILL PABLO , STUDENT IS STILL MIKA STEP 2: Explore the picture on PAGE 7 QUESTION 1 , ask them who is pablo and who is mika? ( as it is the same characters on page 6 ) and then point out BEN. STEP 3: DO THE DIALOGUE AS USUAL, REPEAT 3 TIMES

ENGAGE 4 (6 minutes) • FORMAL CONVERSATIONS

SKIP QUESTION 2 GO TO QUESTION 3: EXPLORE the picture and repeat the dialogue with the student 3 TIMES.\ PRAISE GO TO QUESTION 4: TEACHER IS A STUDENT IS B : USE TEACHERS FIRST NAME AND SURNAME, STUDENT HAS TO USE THERE FIRST NAME AND SURNAME AS WELL. PRAISE

STUDY (7 minutes) • TO TEACH THEM THE STRESS POINTS ONLY

STEP 1: GO THROUGH QUESTION 5 AND COMMENCE PRONUNCIATION DRILLING. STEP 2 : Write the names on the whiteboard ONE BY ONE, and show the stress points, and act the stress points so the student understands what stress point means. PRAISE. STEP 3 : TELL THE STUDENT TO CHOOSE A NAME FROM THE LIST OF QUESTION 5 AND THEN PRACTICE THE DIALOGUE IN THE PICTURE, DONT FORGET TO SHAKE THERE HAND. PRAISE.

STUDY 2 (10 minutes) • TO INTRODUCE STRESS POINTS AND INTONATION!!

NOW NOT ONLY ARE YOU TEACHING STRESS POINTS BUT INTONATION ASWELL. STEP1: ON PAGE 8.... do Question 1, repeat the dialogue 3 times. Step 2: Write the sentence on the board, e.g : Hi, Ben. How are you?. Elicit (ask ) the stress points and also explain the INTONATION to them. (the arrows) *dont ask them the intonation because you are introducing it for the first time DO THIS FOR ALL DIALOGUES IN QUESTION 1

ACTIVIATE (5 minutes) • TO REINFORCE WHAT THEY LEARNT

STEP 1: ON PAGE 8 QUESTION 2 PRACTICE THE DIALOGUE. QUICKLY SHOW THE STRESS POINTS AND INTONATION OF ( VERY WELL, THANK YOU. STEP 3: DO GRAMMAR SPOT ( QUESTION 3 ) Get the student to answer the questions. Dont forget to praise once they have gotten them correctly.

ACTIVATE 2 (6 minutes) • FREER PRACTICE

STILL KEEP THE ACTIVITY CONTROLLED BUT LET THE STUDENT DO THE WORK FOR YOU ( FREER PRACTICE ) Step 1: do question 4 on page 8 by getting the student to complete the blanks, explore the pictures with the student once they get stuck, don't forget to praise.

ACTIVATE 3 (7 minutes) • STUDENT ACTIVITY

GET THE STUDENT TO COMPLETE PAGE 9 AND EXPLORE THE PICTURES. DONT FORGET QUESTION 2 ON PAGE 9 , get student to re - arrange the sentences.

FINISHING OFF THE LESSON (8 minutes) • VOCABULARY

WRITE IT'S = IT IS ON BOARD. PAGE 10: GET STUDENT TO FILL OUT ALL THE PICTURES. ASK THE STUDENT FOR EACH PHOTO: WHATS THIS? AND POINT MAKE SURE STUDENT SAYS: It's a book , It's a computer etc,( NOT IT IS A ... )
