This lesson is focused on listening skills. I am going to have some reviewing and examples about the word ‘obsession’ which they’ve been working on it during their <b>past</b> classes and works on speaking skills, and then I will work on some new vocabularies in the context of listening. This will lead them into the meaning, form, pronunciation of the new words and usage of them in daily speaking. In the end I’m going to have more free practice on the topic in the context of speaking.

Lives and Legends: A Speaking / Listening Lesson

Intermediate (b1) level

In this lesson students practice speaking fluency on the topic of ghostwriting. This is a skills-integrated lesson which focuses on speaking for fluency and listening for gist as well as listening for details and one lays the groundwork for the other. The lesson starts with a short speaking activity to guess the word 'ghostwriter' and continues with another speaking activity, a controlled role play activity and two listening activities. The lesson ends with a free speaking practice.

Elementary a1/a2 level

In this lesson Ss will elicit the topic of the lesson after showing them some pictures. Ss will listen to the investigation of the 3 suspects which is based on the reading: Murder in a Country house. Ss will have to listen for the details and find out from the police interrogation who is the murderer. Ss will practice "WH" questions in their speaking tasks. Speaking activities will include also role playing and free speaking.

In this lesson, students will have an opportunity to practice speaking for accuracy and fluency. Students start with a short pre-speaking writing exercise. This is followed by a group activity for speaking for accuracy in a semi-controlled environment. Finally students do a freer speaking exercise for fluency, first in groups, then w/c.
