Upper intermediate level

In this lesson, students will learn about causative get/have through guided discovery based on a reading text about a picnic. The lesson starts with a discussion about things that a person does for him/herself and the things that are done for her/him. This is followed by reading a text about preparing for a picnic. Finally, there is some controlled practice through sentence reformulation and free practice via a writing activity.

In this lesson, students will first elicit facilities of shopping malls and think about the advantages & disadvantages of shopping malls/areas. Then, the teacher will clarify some vocabulary and introduce useful language needed for the next task. During the rest of the lesson students will prepare a presentation in groups and present it for the whole class. This happens through jigsaw speaking/writing activity.

Beginner - a1 level

In this lesson, the students will prepare to read a text about things to do when going out in the form of a 'What's on?' section of a magazine/newspaper. In order to prepare, they will discuss some possible activities/places, how often they go to those places, and things/people they've seen in those places. While reading, they will scan for specific information and then answer detailed questions. After reading, they will rank the activities/places from most fun to least fun (1 to 9) as a group.
